Norfolk Pools had complete freedom to create this stunning work of art – a contemporary crescent-shaped above-ground pool, which has deservedly established itself as the focal point of this modern country home.

The homeowners requested something completely out of the ordinary to complement and highlight the house’s renovation. Norfolk Pools well and truly delivered, crafting a pool that almost hugs the home’s exterior with its curved shape. This curve flows through the pool, ending at a large, cantilevered ramp, where swimmers can laze about and enjoy the gorgeous views of the surrounding bushland. The pool builders took advantage of the sloping block and double-storey house, as the pool connects from the top level and overflows into an angular pond below for an incredible eye-catching feature.

Accentuating the cantilevered section is the pool’s internal and external tiling; the silver travertine cobbles transitioning from rectangular to square, emphasising the outer edge and underside, and The Pool Tile Company’s Sukabumi ceramic tiles along the pool’s surface. The use of black granite coping and the silver travertine cobbled exterior creates a prominence and contrast with the pale green water against the grey tones of the house.

Norfolk Pools also designed and completed the landscaping, with the aim to create a minimalistic but distinct space. Native accents including the grass trees highlight the pool’s curve and height above ground, linking the upstairs living area to the lower entrance of the house. The pool directly connects to the enclosed deck and wood-fire pizza oven above, and the outdoor lounge below. Between the pool, pizza oven and lounge areas, the homeowners will be able to relax and entertain for many years to come
