Having sold their Noosaville property, the owners of Nautilus Pools undertook renovations on their new Noosa Heads home. As would be expected from a pool builder with more than three decades of experience, the renovations included the construction of a show-stopping pool.

The pool has been positioned to take advantage of the north easterly aspect of the site, while creating a seamless transition from the home’s kitchen and living area.

As the site was difficult to access, part of the front-boundary brick fence had to be removed. excavation and tree removal also presented a challenge, however any issues were easily overcome by the experienced Nautilus Pools team.

Measuring 7m in length, the concrete pool is 5.5m at its widest point to accommodate two sunken sun beds. The spa is elevated 450mm above the pool, creating a comfortable seat height. six Venturi jets, an air blower and gas heating ensure a relaxing spa experience.

A combination of two Jewels 4 Pools colours was selected for the pool interior, while the spa, pool waterline and raised walls are finished in a white crystal pearl mosaic tile blend. Pencil bullnose tiles in ‘Café Blend Antique’ surround the pool, while beyond the pool ‘Cream Pacifica Antique’ tiles flow seamlessly from the house.

The pool design includes three water-feature walls, two of which feature stainless steel water spouts and ‘Tiger skin’ stacked-granite cladding. The middle water feature combines a 900mm waterfall with ‘Black galaxy’ fine line cladding.

There are also two Zodiac laminar Jets water features that sit behind the raised pool wall and project up and over into the pool. Complementing the water features’ led lighting, the pool and spa are equipped with three flush-mounted multicoloured underwater led lights.

Nautilus Pools selected Zodiac equipment for the project, including a variable-speed pump, Aqualink control system and Magnapool mineral sanitation system.

Nautilus Pools has specialised in quality concrete pools and spas since 1984. since its establishment, the company has remained under original ownership and constructed more than 2000 residential and commercial pools, with many repeat clients.

The team has experience working with all types of building sites, finishes, filtration, hydraulics, sanitation, cleaning systems, heating and lighting. As well as designing and building award-winning new pools, Nautilus Pools is also experienced in the renovation and repair of existing pools.

Based in Noosaville, the company works from gympie to Brisbane, building up to 50 pools each year. A family company, Nautilus Pools was established by husband-and-wife team Peter and Linda Byrne. The couple’s two sons have since also joined the family business.
