Advantage Pools & Tennis Courts

The busy owners of this Brisbane home wanted a low-maintenance pool that they could use year-round for relaxing and entertaining. Most pool builders who inspected the property said the homeowners’ ideas couldn’t be achieved, due to access issues, council restrictions and soil conditions.

Enter Luke Rowan, owner and director of Advantage Pools and Tennis Courts. Luke enjoys challenging projects, specialising in complicated sites, tight access, out-of-ground constructions and creative engineering. He had no doubts that what the homeowners envisaged was achievable. After thorough research including 15 quotes, Advantage Pools and Tennis Courts was chosen as the preferred builder.

Working with a small space between the house and a council sewer, the pool had to be staggered around a council manhole, while staying an allowable distance from the sewer line. The resulting outdoor space shows no indication of a difficult build, and oozes contemporary sophistication.

The 6.2m x 3.5m concrete pool features a pebble interior by Rouko Swimming Pool Interiors, complemented by ceramic waterline tiles. Sandstone coping has been paired with timber decking, which was used throughout the outdoor space. Frameless glass fencing by Complete Pool Fencing ensures the space feels open and the views of the pool from within the home are uninterrupted.

As requested by the homeowners, the pool can be used year-round, thanks to its solar heating. It can also be enjoyed after dark, with underwater LED niche lights by Spa Electrics. The homeowners love their new pool, which plays a pivotal role in their outdoor lifestyle.

After more than 15 years in the pool industry, Luke Rowan established Advantage Pools and Tennis Courts in 2007, servicing Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. Today he strives to uphold his unblemished track record and reputation for superior quality.
