Cascade Pools
This beautifully-constructed Cascade Pools project combines colours and textures to create a modern design that brings this Brisbane backyard to life. A testament to the company’s reputation as one of the best swimming pool builders in Brisbane, this outstanding project was the gold medal winner at the Swimming Pool and Spa Association’s (SPASA) Awards of Excellence in 2013 for Best Domestic Concrete Pool – Traditional or Geometric Under $50,000.
As a real estate agent, the owner of this home had been exposed to a variety of pool designs and had a clear idea in mind when he approached Cascade Pools. He and his wife wanted a design that would complement and enhance the modern aesthetic of their soon-to-be-constructed architecturally-designed home. As well as the pool, the homeowners also wanted to provide ample space for their young children to play.
Due to the tight access to the small block, the pool’s concrete shell had to be installed in the very early construction stages of the house. The 9.5m x 3.8m pool features a rendered interior in Quartzon’s ‘Ice Blue’, which is accentuated by four AstralPool ‘Delta’ LED lights at night. The brilliant blue of the Quartzon interior is complemented by modern porcelain tile coping.
Continued from the outdoor entertaining and living space, the timber decking leads to the eye-catching natural stone feature wall, which is complete with a sheer descent water feature. Frameless glass fencing was selected to provide a seamless connection with the entertaining space and lawn.
The position of the filtration system was a major consideration, as the homeowners did not want it to be visible. Cascade Pools’ solution was to conceal the filtration system by continuing the use of the natural timber found of the decking, creating an attractive seating area.
As well as receiving a gold medal for this project, the 2013 SPASA Awards of Excellence also saw Cascade Pools receive a silver medal in the Domestic Concrete Pool – Freeform or Natural Under $50,000 category.
