When JB Pool Construction was asked by the owners of this riverside abode to bring new life to their tired, aged pool, the result was something stunning. Designed by Michelle Marsden Design and fine-tuned and executed by the team at JB Pool Construction, the updated design exudes modern style and sophistication.

The outstanding 9.5m x 4.5m pool sits boldly amid pale Italian porcelain paving, accompanied by a 2.4m² elevated spa, which creates a striking effect. The clients wanted their new pool to be modern, with sharp, clean edges and cleverly hidden features, and their vision was fully realised.

By building new pool walls, JB Pool Construction was able to remove the existing rounded, Roman ends, giving the pool an entirely revitalised look and feel. The tiling and coping echo the materials that have already been used in the home, achieving a cohesive aesthetic, while the frameless glass fence provides an unimpeded view across the pool, to the river beyond.

Extensive engineering and waterproofing was required to modify the pool and achieved its new form; the poured concrete had to blend seamlessly with the original structure. By shortening the ends of the existing pool, the company made room for the spa and the planter boxes that frame the space, as well as a pool equipment plant room, which was cleverly concealed by additional paving. Submerged ATOM EM series LED lights from Spa Electrics were installed in both the pool and spa, enabling the clients to entertain family and friends with a vibrant light show as the sun sets.

JB Pool Construction did not just modernise the look of this pool, but its accompanying features as well. With the addition of an AquaRite Chlorinator and an OmniLogic system by Hayward Pool Products, the clients can rest assured their pool will always be in perfect condition with minimal fuss. Both the pool and spa can be easily controlled and monitored via smartphone apps. A Remco automated pool cover was incorporated into the new poolside seating, while ten-star energy rated variable-speed pumps by Hayward Pool Products and heat pumps by EvoHeat were fitted to make the pool and spa environmentally responsible as well as beautiful.
