MGLARDER Building & Landscape
This showpiece project was constructed by MGLARDER Building & Landscape within a small outdoor area in the inner-city suburb of Bulimba. The owners desired a space they could enjoy with their family and use to entertain friends. The owners’ requirements meant that the company had to maximise useable space to work within strict council guidelines.
Natural stone and warm timber have turned the area into an instant relaxing getaway, while the introduction of mature planting allows for privacy and adds to the resort-feel. A glass self-closing door and floor-to-ceiling glass windows create a seamless flow between the indoor and outdoor areas.
MGLARDER Building & Landscape successfully overcame many architectural challenges to create this project. The property is classified as a small lot, which limited the scope of design. By liaising with the council and neighbours, the company was able to achieve a functional and private outdoor room with a smart front fence and entry.
The irrigation system has a rain sensor mounted on the roof to ensure maximum water efficiency. The pool is heated by a solar heating system with active sensors to switch off the pump when the desired temperature is reached. The pool equipment is 5-star energy rated to ensure minimum ongoing running costs for the owners.
