The owner of this home wanted a functional, unique and timeless landscape that would suit his lifestyle both now and into the future. Outdoor Secrets’ senior landscape architect Jason O’Toole has designed an outdoor area that meets the owner’s requirements and stands out from the crowd with many stylish and practical features.
Many of the features of this outdoor area have been custom-designed by Outdoor Secrets. From the four-leaf cloverinspired sliding gate at the property entrance to the elegant pool and magnificent roof structures with custom steel brackets, every element works together beautifully.
The area also features an undercover alfresco kitchen with a rangehood, bar fridges and a barbecue, designed for year-round entertaining. Throughout the alfresco kitchen and pool surround, Outdoor Secrets has incorporated 800mm x 400mm limestone pavers. The design also includes an exposed aggregate driveway, which complements the water feature at the front of the property.
Outdoor Secrets has designed a simple, low-maintenance planting plan, which includes lilly pillys, fortnight lilies, pencil pines, xanadu, creeping ficus, and star jasmine. The plants frame and soften the edges of the garden without taking away from any of the main features.
This functional garden is maintained with a fully automated irrigation system, eliminating the need for hoses and reducing water wastage. Low-voltage LED lighting throughout the garden beds and surrounding the pool brings energy efficiency to the yard.
Outdoor Secrets was established in 2010 by husband-and-wife team Nathan and Laurêne Bisshop. Nathan has more than 11 years of experience working in the building and landscaping industry, while Laurêne has a wealth of knowledge in business administration and management.
The company specialises in the design and construction of residential landscapes, completing between 40 and 70 projects each year across the north and south of Brisbane, as well as the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales.
Outdoor Secrets’ construction team is made up of qualified designers, landscapers, carpenters, builders and contractors, who are all professionals in their field. The management and design teams work closely with the construction teams to ensure timeframes and budgets are met and materials are of the highest quality.
