Placid Pools
The seamless integration between the pool and the natural rainforest surrounds make this breathtaking Placid Pools project a standout.
The homeowners wanted their own private piece of paradise, mimicking the natural essence of the surrounding space. Set on the side of a hill, the space is blessed with a lush green backdrop, waterholes and creeks that run through the property – an inspiriting setting from which Placid Pools could work from and build upon.
To complement, yet not take away from the existing landscape, the in-house design and construction team at Placid Pools chose to place natural boulder river rocks, weighing up to two tonnes, around the 22m x 8m pool and nearby waterfall.
Much more than aesthetically pleasing, the pool has been cleverly constructed to include various top-of-the-range features including two Hurlcon pumps, two self-cleaning chlorinators, Spa Electrics LED blue lighting and two sand filters with glass media beads.
The pool also features a black pebblecrete interior that adds to its natural creek-like appearance. A large catchment area and recirculating pump were employed to run the nearby waterfall that cascades into the pool and to reduce water loss and evaporation.
Placid Pools built a convenient nearby entertainment area with a cabana down the opposite end of the pool, featuring stylish granite seating for the homeowners and their guests to relax and enjoy the ambience of the tranquil sounds and sights nearby.
The natural timber decking used throughout the project ties the different outdoor areas together and creates integration between the open-plan home and pool area.
