The pool featured here is located on the stunning Sunshine Coast at Castaways Beach. The national park provides a spectacular view and the homeowners wanted to make the most of this incredible location. Twenty years ago, a fibreglass pool was installed to entertain the children. These days, however, the parents want something special for them that will complement their home and its surrounds.

Peter Byrne from Nautilus Pools worked with the clients on the pool area design to ensure they achieved exactly what they wanted. The end result is a breathtaking pool that also includes multiple practical functions. Energy-efficient and time-saving devices were incorporated at the owners’ request, as they wanted all the bells and whistles, including a fully-tiled, heated spa and an 8m-long glass edge.

The pool was installed at the best location to view the surrounding national park, even though this meant constructing it on sand. The team at Nautilus Pools worked around this by including nine piers and shoring. Glass fencing ensures an unobstructed view as well as safety, and a Zodiac variable speed pump controlled by Aqualink TRI, guarantees a clean pool every day.

Since 1984, Nautilus Pools has specialised in quality concrete pools and spas. Established by husband and wife team Peter and Linda Byrne, the couple’s two sons have also joined the family business. The team has experience working with all types of building sites, finishes, filtration, hydraulics, sanitation, cleaning systems, heating and lighting. As well as designing and building award-winning new pools, Nautilus Pools is also experienced in the renovation and repair of existing pools. Based in Noosaville, the company works from Gympie to Brisbane, building up to 50 pools each year. It has now built more than 2000 residential and commercial pools, and welcomes many repeat clients.
