This simple yet refined pool, designed and constructed by Nautilus Pools Pty Ltd, is a perfect addition to the clients’ backyard retreat. The company was approached by clients with a clear vision in mind of a pool that would fit seamlessly with their existing outdoor entertainment area, and still allow room in the backyard for their garden. By implementing a skilful design, the company was able to create a pool that sits beautifully among its surrounds.

Built snuggly against the barbecue area, the 7m x 3m pool forms a natural and integral part of the outdoor entertaining space. With pale wooden decking, and a muted colour palette echoing the materials used in the barbecue area and the home itself, the design effortlessly integrates with the backyard. The cleverly placed submerged entry steps allow family and friends to relax in the water while still being connected to the adjacent entertaining space.

Salt and pepper pebblecrete enhances the gentle hues used within the space, creating a calming atmosphere around the pool. Three bubblers built into the pool’s ledge area produce soft water noises and soothing motion, while a wall of silver travertine provides an effortlessly elegant feature that counterpoints the decking opposite. Designed and established by the clients, the landscaping provides bright splashes of colour to the pool area, and Nautilus Pools Pty Ltd worked in close collaboration with the clients to ensure their vision could be realised.

Gentle on the skin, the pool water is maintained by a self-cleaning TRI-XO saltwater chlorinator and a glass media filter by Zodiac, which means the homeowners can spend more time enjoying their pool and less time maintaining it. Multicoloured submerged LED lights by Spa Electrics guarantee entertaining will be a vibrant affair, and the glass fencing adds safety without detracting from the backyard’s spacious visual appeal.

Nautilus Pools Pty Ltd has been building stylish concrete pools for more than 24 years. Operating from the Sunshine Coast to Gympie, the team builds up to 50 luxurious residential pools annually. The company was founded in 1984 by Peter Bryne, and his son Braden recently joined the team to help carry it into the future with the same dedication and commitment.
