Sundollar Pools

Sundollar Pools has won numerous awards from the Swimming Pool and Spa Association (SPASA) at both state and national levels and the featured pool is yet another extraordinary project that they can add to their list of achievements.

The homeowners wanted a pool with aesthetic appeal that they could view from all areas of the house, and which was large enough to swim laps in. They also wanted to be able to utilise the pool during all times of the year, so a quality heating system was essential.

The featured concrete pool’s interior is Royal Blue quartzon, and in combination with the Crema Maquino limestone paving, has created a striking colour scheme, which is in sync with the material palette inside the house. With a unique shape and two-point entry, the pool features a negative-edge that spills into a granite trough, creating a strong visual impact from both ends of the pool.

The 12.3m x 3.3m x 4.2m pool has maximised the available space, while leaving plenty of room for entertaining and access to other parts of the property. The positioning also maximises the exposure of the beautiful blue swimming pool from inside the personal gym.

The landscaping is simple and effective, pertaining to the contemporary look of the area. It features a palm tree coming through the timber decking, with palm trees down one side of the pool, complementing the relaxed feel of the area.

The pool is installed with a saltwater chlorinator, a Hurlcon RX400 sand filter and CTX 360 pump, and multi-colour Spa Electrics LED niche lights. It also has a top of the range Hurlcon heat pump.

Sundollar Pools specialise in steel reinforced concrete pools, however, they install all kinds of pools, from resort-style through to domestic pools. They service clients in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales, and build approximately 200 pools a year.

Sundollar Pools was started by Richard Nielsen in October 2001. Richard has worked in the swimming pool industry for 25 years.
