For the pictured project, the homeowners wanted their garden transformed into a practical yet simple and elegant external living room to provide space for entertaining. Natural, earthy tones were selected to complement the contemporary Australian landscape with tropical influences. The out-dated concrete pool has been brought back to life with a complete restoration, including a new pebble interior, tile banding and coping to match the pavers.

To maximise the use of the backyard, the deck was extended out to the fence line to create a large platform for entertaining and soaking in the sun. The timber screen on the fence line was added as both a stylish element and privacy feature.

As busy professionals, a low-maintenance area was extremely important to the clients. They requested minimal turf with bamboo, glass fencing and light sandstone pavers incorporated to soften the space, as well as an outdoor spa area.
